Gig at Musica on Friday

hey,

Just thought I'd post it here too. I'm playing a solo gig at Musica/Mocha Maiden this Friday night at 8pm. Jon Penn will be there, as well as my good friend Sean Larson. The whole night is gonna be real layed back, and it's the last gig I'm gonna play until February. (just takin a break to do some writing and recording, which btw is going really well......i posted one of the songs i've been working on, but I've decided not to leak out any others.....I can honestly say that I'm more proud of this material than anything else I've done.......I should be releasing an album of sorts sometime early in 2007.)........oh yeah, and the Musica thing is $5.

hope to see you there

New Music

What's up ya'll.....so I've been writing a lot of music lately and recording on my own again.....It's been a lot of fun the past few weeks......anyways, today I picked up my guitar to record an idea that I wrote almost a year ago and then I broke a string.....i was out of strings and out of luck, but i wasn't about to giveup , so......I sat down and began to play the idea out on the piano.....the entire song took a different turn and I liked it.....so from about noon till 6 today i was alone in my basement putting this idea together into a ruff version of a new song.....I threw down some drums, piano and electric, then repeated some lyrics for the spots i haven't written yet.....all said and done I think it's pretty cool....but who knows what I'll think next week....I might hate it.....anyways...give it a listen if you like......CLICK HERE

hmmm?

So, I don't think anyone even reads this page anymore, but whatev. It's not like I ever post.

This weekend Ben, Dave, and I did a video shoot for our promotional DVD, and ended up doing a photoshoot along with it. We got some real sweet poster shots that hopefully all of you who read this will see..........oh wait....Mike.....you're the only one who reads this.....and you took the pictures.

Well, in case someone else is reading this, look forward to seeing the posters. They're pretty sweet. Thanks hix.

Oh, and we named the band. "Dolson". It was Ben's idea, and after taking forever, and not coming up with anything else, it was really the only name that seemed to make sense. Now the more I think about it, the more I like it. (it is a good name if I do say so myself ; ) ...)

I haven't been writing too much lately. I do have this new idea however, that I worked on a week ago. It was something I wrote in my journal months ago.

Have you ever been in the cycle of doing the same things wrong over and over, and just keep coming back to say "I'm sorry," Deep down, we all know that sorry isn't good enough.

I want to change

Tonight Ben, Dave, and I worked on some music stuff as usual. We started with the middle part of hangin' on, it kinda has some time changes in it, and we're trying to tighten up the screws a bit.

After that Ben started jammin' some cool bass line and we followed along for a while......after just goofin off with the new chord changes we decided to be productive.

I introduced the song "Edge of the Earth." We'd never played it before, but in a matter of about 30 minutes we had a pretty solid arrangement and layed down some tracks. I posted the ruff mix on www.purevolume.com/andydolson so you can all check it out.

Have a good night all

Andy
